Letter from the President
Welcome to the new Penn State Alumni Association of Delaware County website! As you can see, we have many new and exciting things going on in the Delaware County Chapter. New board members, new energy, and a passion for all things Penn State. As this year’s Chapter President, I look forward to bringing you the best that we have to offer in Delaware County.
As we all start a new PSU year, I think it is crucial that we ask ourselves: Where does my passion lie, and how am I going to make this year better than last year? Passion is an intangible. We all are passionate about something. Whether it is our children, our favorite sports teams, or involvement in our communities, we put special effort and enthusiasm around our passions. Successful PSU members are very good at translating their passion into action items – helping our current students, raising money for charities, or providing scholarships for those in our communities. Penn State thrives on the passion it gets from its Alumni, and our local chapter is no different. But we can’t do it alone, and we need you--our members--to help us accomplish all that we set out to achieve.
The secret is to find out where you can add value. Your passion for all things Penn State can help us make a difference in our community. Whether you just attend our events, become a member, or can take the time to join our Board, you are adding value to the Penn State community. So get involved! Become a chapter member, and network with the other PSU Alumni that share the same passion.
I hope you enjoy the upcoming year as a Penn State Alumni Association of Delaware County member. Your participation, membership, and passion for what we do can help us bring our chapter to new heights. So log in, get involved, and be Penn State proud! I look forward to meeting each and every one of you at one of our upcoming events.
Together….WE ARE PENN STATE!
Sincerely,
David Arata
